At ASB, we recognize parents’ role as partners in the education of the children in our care.
We strive to create an environment where parents feel welcome and valued and where a high level of trust exists between school and home. Throughout their education, it is crucial that children see their parents and teachers in mutually respectful, supportive roles.
Parent-Teacher Association (PTA)
The executive committee of the PTA supports different school activities. It also plans social events for the parent community. Our 2021-22 PTA Executive Board are:
Parent Grade Level Representatives (GLRs)
One parent from each grade is designated to act as the Grade Level Representative. The GLRs are an important group with which the Community Relations Team and Divisional Principals can share information and get feedback about initiatives. Our goals are to develop community and enhance communication with families.
Parent Ambassadors provide a wider perspective on life at ASB and Mumbai to prospective families. They also help new families settle into Mumbai and ASB.
Council of Advisors
The Council of Advisors interacts with the Board of Trustees and its committees. They provide a way for the parents to assist the school’s leadership set the future direction. The school's division and department teams act as a sounding board for new initiatives.
Parent Workshops, Coffees & Education Sessions
Over the course of the school year, there will be several occasions for parents to come into school to attend workshops and information sessions on different aspects of education. The goal is to gain a better understanding of current practices and also give parents strategies to support their children at home.
Parent Coffee mornings are ways for parents to stay up-to-date with information. Principals are often invited to discuss daily life in Elementary, Middle, and High Schools. To know about the new initiatives, they can join the open sessions with the Board of Trustees or attend the Head of School's Town Hall meeting to discuss the school’s new strategies.
We offer plenty of opportunities to learn about our school, culture, and vision. Parents are encouraged to contribute their time and talent to our community.
Parent Interest Clubs
We encourage parents to explore the learning mindset that we foster in our students. Different learning opportunities are available for parents throughout the year. Some of these include:
- Zumba classes in our private community
- Yoga through our online academy
There are many other ways for parents to explore areas of interest or learn something new at the best international school in Mumbai. We also invite parents to explore education and life in the 21st Century. Our book clubs, reading groups, and visiting experts will help you learn more.
The Parent Interest Clubs coordinate all the learning opportunities, for school-related as well as personal. We wish the parents to become active in building a community of lifelong learners. Such a community will be a true reflection of our mission and core values.
