ASB’s Middle School offers an inviting, safe and supportive environment for students to learn and grow. Students are empowered to explore the attitudes, values, and habits of mind that will allow them to make complex choices both in their learning and in preparation for life.
Our Middle School seeks to provide each student with opportunities to explore, experience and excel. Our teachers, curriculum, resources, and programs all contribute to facilitating a meaningful transition into adolescence.
Middle School is a time of developing independence when students begin to make decisions about their learning and to inquire and explore in ways that enhance their development. Students become more aware of their role in groups, valuing others’ choices and recognizing the strengths in one another. ASB Middle Schoolers realize they have a responsibility to use their knowledge, skills, and understanding, in partnership with others, to make a difference in the world. Collectively, our Middle School represents cultures and nations from all around the world.
Our diversity helps us to learn about perspective, culture, compassion, and consensus. These experiences help us better understand our opinions, values, and goals and also ensure that when we leave Middle School, we are more confident and capable. Through participation in both classroom and co-curricular activities, our students are filled with a sense of hope for what is to come and are tasked with helping create a just and sustainable future.
The middle years are a time of exponential growth, and the talented and dedicated ASB staff work in partnership with parents and students to maximize potential in both academic and social/emotional development at this crucial time. We look forward to getting to know all our Middle School parents and students.
