Early Childhood Campus

We are excited to announce that the American School of Bombay has opened the Powai Learning Village (for Early Childhood Learning: Pre-K3, Pre-K4, and Kindergarten students) in the Hiranandani Knowledge Park in Powai, Mumbai. The driving force behind the initiative is two-fold:

  • To better serve ASB's current families that live in the Powai region.
  • To enable the many prospective families (located in and around the Powai region), who are currently eligible, to enroll their children in our Early Childhood program.

For inquiries please fill out our Online Inquiry Form. Children of all nationalities are welcome to apply. In order for Indian national students to be eligible to apply, they must have studied in an American/International system of education. Elementary Campus

Pre-K – Grade 5

The students of our international elementary school in Mumbai enjoy a heated swimming pool, rock climbing wall, and cricket pitch. We also have a science lab, health clinic, multi-purpose hall, and community space. All food is prepared fresh in our on-site kitchen.

Our students in Pre-kindergarten through Grade 5 have convenient access from their open learning spaces to two outdoor playgrounds; music, art, and PE spaces are just a few steps away. Science and Maker spaces, and iCommons libraries are strategically placed throughout the building.

The unique learning spaces are designed for individual instruction and provide our teachers with flexibility. This enables them to place students into small groups based on interests, ability levels, and projects.

Secondary Campus

Grade 6 – Grade 12

Our secondary students (Middle School and High School) enjoy two art studios, a Black Box theater, choir and band rooms, and drama studio. Other spaces include a yoga/dance area, an iCommons, and Makerspace, which help learners pursue their passions. We have a rock climbing wall, multi-purpose sports court, a weight room, and a heated swimming pool. A shared sports ground is the venue for basketball, tennis, soccer, and track and field. The atrium is the heart of our secondary campus where our community gathers to socialize and enjoy food that is prepared fresh in our on-site kitchen.

The ground floor of the secondary campus houses our international middle school. It provides our Grade 6 through Grade 8 students with dedicated and flexible learning spaces. Middle school students work in their commons areas and two science labs. They also can check out from a rich collection of books in the library.

Our international high school in Mumbai covers three floors of flexible learning spaces and three science labs. Students also meet and work in groups in commons areas. They study and work in an environment that fosters independence and self-management.

Staying Ahead

At ASB, teachers have the best resources to provide the highest quality instruction. We continuously research and test new and different instructional materials. This helps us stay current with emerging developments in education. We encourage teacher exploration and welcome recommendations for new resources that improve student learning.

With flexible walls and modular resources, our learning spaces are unique in themselves. They are equipped with LCD TVs and speakers for the purpose of sharing and collaborating. The spaces play an important role in the experience of our community.

ASB’s team of international teachers support students in and out of the classroom. Teaching Assistants, Reading Specialists, Science and Language Specialists, the School Psychologist, and Literacy Coach all support and enhance student learning. Additional support is available through our EAL teachers, divisional counselors, instructional coaches, and healthcare professionals.

The tech support team ensures that ASB stays in the forefront as the best international day school in Mumbai.
