ASB School Stories

Located in the heart of Mumbai, India, the American School of Bombay is a coeducational, independent, IB day school from Pre-K to Grade 12.

The American School of Bombay is a center of learning for our students as well as for educators and thought leaders from around the world.

  • Each year, our School hosts conferences and professional development events for educators in Mumbai, across India and from overseas.
  • Our approach to onsite research and development translates findings and insights directly into practice, shortening the time it takes for insights to impact learning and generate results.
  • From our innovative online learning academy to collaborations with leading NGOs and universities, we seek to advance the field of teaching and learning for our community as well as for children, schools and communities far beyond our own. This dynamic contribution to the field adds to the rich educational experience we offer.
  • We support learning as a way of life for our community — parents, students and educators.
  • We contribute ideas and papers to conferences and are published in leading academic journals regularly.

ASB Teacher Academy

Our Mission calls us to continuously inquire, as well as enhance the lives of others. We strive to fulfill our mission in many innovative ways. One of them is supporting local education institutions to achieve their missions.

To support our work with local education institutions, we have developed a set of ASB advisory and mentoring services. These help organizations foster a culture of continuous growth and improvement. One way we support our colleague teachers in local schools is through the ASB Teacher Academy: The Academy seeks to provide opportunities for ASB educators to offer instruction and coaching to local educators who are committed to their growth. Taking place over the course of the year on Saturday mornings, ASB volunteers have the chance to facilitate sessions as part of a TEAM of ASB colleagues. There may also be virtual session tutor group options during, and invitations to visit our partner schools. A great way to connect with India and share your skills with fellow educators.
