Reflecting back on our time at ASB, there isn’t one favorite memory but rather a fond experience of how a school should be that offers a global perspective, nurtures kids to pursue their dreams, and lifelong friendships that extend beyond the classroom.

ASB welcomed my kids with open arms (Kathlin was in 6th grade, Alex was in 2nd grade), and transformed them in 3 short years to be confident, inquisitive, and to be a good person. ASB spoiled my family as we used ASB as the benchmark when we returned back to Denver, Colorado.

If there is one piece of advice for the ASB community (or those considering ASB), I recommend embracing what India and ASB has to offer.

Since leaving Mumbai in 2017, we have moved a few times to Orlando, Florida, back to Denver, Colorado, and now residing in Washington D.C. Moving is always a challenge for the kids, but ASB (and India) has taught us to be resourceful and adaptable. The saying “if you can live here (India), you can live anywhere” is so true. Kathlin is in her first year at Hawaii Pacific University (a real hardship location), and Alex enrolled in the Climbing Academy, a US high school that travels to climb world class rock faces in Spain, Thailand, and Greece this year (again another hardship in life).

If there is one piece of advice for the ASB community (or those considering ASB), I recommend embracing what India and ASB has to offer. Granted India can be overwhelming (there is beauty in the chaos) but lean on ASB to help you situate your family, explore/expand your comfort zone, and make new friends. Our family cherishes India, ASB, and still amazed you can be 2 hours late but still be on-time.
