Viral Mittal - Class of 2004

It was so difficult for me to come up with one most memorable moment at ASB because there are just so many that will forever be ingrained in my heart and mind.

However, if I have to pick one of my most enduring times at ASB, then I would pick lunch time at the cafeteria. I remember each grade had their own self-selected table where everyone from my class would sit to eat lunch. I have to be honest and say that I never ate the school lunch. I always got a sandwich from home and maybe had a bag of chips from school (something that I would not allow my kids to do now). All the other students would wait for the school café menu to have their all-time favorite: chicken biryani. Back then, we didn’t have a school app that would allow us to order from before, so the chicken biryani was first come first serve and there would be a stampede of students the day it was served. Lunch time was the most memorable for me not only because of this but also it was the best opportunity for students to build long lasting friendships (and to do any last-minute homework for classes that were after lunch).

It was so difficult for me to come up with one most memorable moment at ASB because there are just so many that will forever be ingrained in my heart and mind.

I was born and brought up in Mumbai and I went to ASB to do my IB. After ASB, I went to the US for my undergrad and got my Bachelors in Finance & Management from The Wharton School of UPENN. After UPENN, I worked as an Investment Strategist at Citi Private Bank. I met my husband, Parshant, at UPENN and we decided to move to Mumbai after our marriage. Currently, I work in the social sector as a Director of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of a chemical manufacturing company called Vinati Organics. On the personal front, Parshant and I have two young boys, Aryaveer (7) and Avirath (4). Not only am I a proud ASB alum, but I am also a proud ASB parent now. Aryaveer (Grade 2) and Avirath (PreK) go to ASB as well and I am sure that ASB will make both my children a responsible global citizen. I really could not have asked for a better education for my kids than this !!
