Mumbai has long been a muse to many artists, writers, photographers and visitors. Its energy is not always possible to capture in words. It has the buzz and resilience of New York, the vintage charm of some areas of London, architecture belonging to the Art Deco of Europe, and yet it has its own eclectic charm. It is unpretentious yet charming, unpredictable and constantly hectic, ever evolving without moving away from its core.
Grade 9 explored Mumbai in Language Arts this year, in a narrative unit called ‘Mumbai Uncovered’, to try and capture the very essence of the magic of this city. Enjoy this collection of stories that explore this magical city we call home.
