Strategic Plan

Our Strategic Plan is a shared vision of the future of the American School of Bombay. It has been created by community members working together to understand and describe not only what we want for our community over the next five years, but also what is possible for us to achieve.

Our School Mission

We inspire all of our students to continuous inquiry, empowering them with the skills, courage, optimism, and integrity to pursue their dreams and enhance the lives of others.

ASB delivers a dynamic educational program that encourages each student to achieve her or his highest potential. While ASB is a U.S. style school, the Indian setting and multi-national community, representing over 51 countries, brings children who have varied experiences together to learn in a rich and unique environment.

Our Core Values

ASB Core Values are the formal expression of our school's fundamental values and serves as our ethical code.  They are an intricate part of the fabric of ASB.

We believe that...

  • Each person has equal intrinsic value.
  • Embracing our interdependence is vital for community to flourish.
  • All people have potential for growth.
  • Mutual trust and respect are essential for healthy, enduring relationships.
  • People are responsible for the choices they make.
  • Internal motivation is the most powerful driver of learning and success.
  • A balanced lifestyle is the essence of well-being.

Our Strategic Objectives:

By 2011, all students habitually recognize needs and genuinely give of themselves to enhance the lives of others.

By 2011, all students dare to articulate their dreams and demonstrate the competence and resilience to pursue them.

By 2011, all students demonstrate devotion, participation, and inquiry in the continual pursuit of knowledge and understanding.

There are thirty four End Results that need to be accomplished over a period of five years to achieve our strategic objectives. The 2008-2009 school year will be the third year of implementation of the Strategic Plan.
