Technology Requirements

The American School of Bombay is proud to be a leader in the use of Information Technology (IT) to enhance students’ educational experiences. We believe that by using technology appropriately, students are more highly engaged in their own education, have increased opportunities to develop higher order thinking skills, and are better prepared to participate in a world where technological fluency is essential. As a result of these beliefs, all students enrolled in grades six through twelve are required to own their own Tablet PC and to bring it with them to each of their classes.

We have two Tablet PC standards at ASB – Dell Latitude XT2 and HP Elitebook 2730p.

Grade 6 Students will use the Dell Latitude XT2. (Tablet PC Specifications)

Grades 7 through 12 Students have the option of choosing one of the two Tablets. (Tablet PC Specifications)

Fujitsu Lifebook T4215 Tablet PC	2007-08	Choose from the following two options: Option 1: Purchase a new Dell Latitude XT2 or HP Elitebook 2730p Option 2: Purchase a 4th year AMC (Annual Maintenance Contract) (There is no insurance on these tablets.) Please complete Year 4, 5 & 6 Form.
Dell Latitude XT Tablet PC or Fujitsu Lifebook T2010 Tablet PC	2008-09	Continue to use the machine. The original warranty remains in effect until August 1, 2011.
Dell Latitude XT2 Tablet PC or HP Elitebook 2730p	2009-10	Continue to use the machine. The original warranty remains in effect until August 1, 2012.
