To All Prospective ASB Parents and Students,
We are pleased you are considering ASB for your child's educational experience in the colorful city of Mumbai. The more you explore our website and discover the programs ASB has to offer, you will find our community to be a vibrant environment for your child to grow and develop as a student and individual.
Please be sure to read carefully throughout the ASB Admissions web pages prior to completing the online Inquiry Form. There is pertinent information about ASB and applicant requirements to consider prior to continuing with the application process.
Admission Statement
Admission to the American School of Bombay is subject to applicants meeting entrance requirements and submission of all required documentation, including previous academic records. Applicants must meet the outlined requirements in order to begin the application process at the American School of Bombay. Failure to submit all required documentation and to disclose pertinent information regarding the student - such as special testing, resource services, individual educational plans, or psychological evaluations - may be cause for the student's enrollment to be delayed or denied.
One application form must be submitted for each applicant. However, submission of the application does not guarantee acceptance into ASB. Complete academic records and all required paperwork must be received by the Admissions Office before the student can be considered for enrollment. If necessary, the ASB Admissions Committee may request additional academic and personal information as well as an applicant and parent interview.
Application Timeline:
- 2010-2011 school year applications are accepted year-round for those seeking admission later than August 2010.
- 2011-2012 school year - applications accepted beginning December 1st, 2010.
To Begin the Application Process at ASB:
1. Ensure the applicant is eligible for admission: ASB Admission Requirements
2. Submit an online Inquiry Form at http://www.asbindia.org/page.cfm?p=61. We will then reply to you with additional information about ASB's application process and the tuition and fee structure.
Upon an applicant's admission to ASB:
A letter will be sent via email informing the parents of the applicant's admission to ASB.
The parents will need to reply to ASB within 7 days confirming their acceptance of the admission offer. If the confirmation is not received by ASB within 7 days, the admission offer will be retracted and the applicant will be placed in the wait pool.
School Fees: an invoice will be raised and couriered as per instructions given on the Application Signature Form. School fees are typical of international schools; all fees must be paid in advance of the school year and within 15 days in which the invoice is sent. The fees shall be payable in US Dollars in compliance with the regulations of the Reserve Bank of India which states that the fees in foreign currency can be paid by foreign national parents or by the parent's employer or head office. It is the parent's responsibility to inform the school if they require Indian Rupee invoices if not in compliance with above.
Note: A student is considered on provisional status until full official academic records have been submitted. Failure to supply complete academic records may result in the retraction of the applicant's acceptance until such records have been received.
