PTA
Dear
Families,
A warm
welcome from the Parent Teacher Association! We are the PTA Executive Board for
the 2010 – 2011 school year and we are looking forward to a great year!
As you well
know, the ASB community is characterized by optimism, compassion and a “can-do”
attitude - even during the rainiest days of the monsoon and the steamiest days
of summer! With that “can-do” attitude
and the multiple skills, talents and resources that exist in our community, we
are planning a variety of activities and events for the coming year. These
events seek to promote ASB’s core values and enhance the well-being of the
community. They include:
- Dinner and Dance
- Carols, Cocoa and NGOs Holiday
Mela
- Family Fun Day / Picnic
- Teacher / Staff Appreciation
Luncheon
The PTA will
also play a supporting role in other events hosted by ASB, such as the South
Asia Inter-School Association (SAISA) Swim Meet. Additionally, the PTA is again
recruiting Room Parents to plan and lead activities at the classroom level.
To us, the
ASB community is kaleidoscopic in nature. It is immensely vibrant, dynamic and
ultimately beautiful, and through the lens of this community, we are able to
see the unique colors and flavors that its individuals represent, as well as
the stunning beauty that results when we come together as a whole. We are here to
promote community spirit and in that vein, we invite you to join us in making
Mumbai and ASB the best possible home away from home. Feel free to approach us
with your questions, concerns and ideas, in person or by email. And get
involved – whether on a regular basis, or whenever you find a free moment or
two!
We also encourage
you to join the parents’ network (http://asbpta.ning.com),
if you haven’t already! Commonly referred to as the Ning, it is the best way to
gain useful information about household staff for hire, restaurants, travel
tips and where to find that odd ingredient for a favorite dish.
The vibrancy
of the ASB community, the active involvement of its families, and the
dedication of ASB administrators, faculty and staff contribute to making this
an exceptionally open and caring community. We hope that you will join us in making it
even more so, and we wish you a happy and successful academic year!
