Welcome to the American School of Bombay.
The American School of Bombay (ASB) was founded as an independent, co-educational day school in 1981 designed to serve the needs of international and expatriate children within the community of Mumbai. The school offers an educational program from early childhood through Grade 12 for nearly 700 students representing more than 40 nationalities.
ASB is located in the Bandra Kurla Complex of Mumbai where our faculty and staff are dedicated to the growth and development of all our students. Together, we live our school's mission to inspire all of our students to continuous inquiry, empowering them with the skills, courage, optimism, and integrity to pursue their dreams and enhance the lives of others. The curriculum, textbooks, instructional materials, and teaching methods are typical of those found in the top international schools worldwide and top independent schools in the United States. ASB has been an IB World School since 1998 and is authorized to offer both the Primary Years and Diploma Programmes. While focusing on the development of the whole child, the school offers a college preparatory curriculum that awards graduates an American high school diploma and/or the International Baccalaureate Diploma. The school is inspected by and has received full accreditation by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools (USA) and by the Commission of International and Trans Regional Accreditation. The language of instruction is English.
ASB offers educational opportunities to all eligible students who identify with the school's mission and core values and continue to help maintain a co-educational school. As a result, we have a diverse student body representing a range of nationalities, languages, cultural backgrounds, and abilities. Our teaching faculty is recruited globally and is among the finest faculty in the world, on par with the very top international and independent schools.
