Our Technology Resources

We believe that Information Technology should promote active learning, allow teachers to share information efficiently and maintain proficiency, enable administrators to manage the school more effectively, and facilitate timely communications between students, teachers, administrators and parents.

IT at ASB
The existing infrastructure includes:

Computing and Communications Infrastructure

  • Network - All instructional spaces, administration office, library and other infrastructure of the school are connected over a 1000 Mbps LAN.
  • Servers - The school's network is powered by a collection of fourteen servers.
  • Tablets/Laptops - The school has an installed base of over 600 student and staff tablets and laptops spread across various divisions and departments.
  • Wireless Access - All instructional spaces, administration offices, library and other infrastructure of the school access the technology resources on the servers through 802.11 g access points.
  • Internet - Access to the Internet is available through a high-speed 10 Mbps Fiber link with a 2 Mbps Wireless backup.

Applications and Systems

  • Student Management System - We use Veracross, a web-based integrated student information and management system for student admissions, student attendance, student reporting, and preparing middle and high school course schedules.
  • Community Portal - ASB has transitioned to our new Community Portal on Finalsite. This has given us a shared space to improve communications within the community. It is a repository for documents and other school related information - news, announcements, events, calendars, Web links. It also facilitates student, staff and community participation in discussions and surveys.
  • Accounting System - This addresses General Ledger, Purchase, Accounts, Fees and Payroll.
  • Web Page - The school has an informative website - it is user friendly and content rich.
  • Library Management System - Destiny provides ASBs library automation services encompassing cataloging, circulation, inventory, and public access catalog capabilities. The database allows us to track patrons, titles, usage data, and collection development in order to optimize our services for students, teachers and families in the most cost-effective manner possible.
  • Educational Software - The school has a growing collection of educational software to facilitate the integration of technology in all subjects at the school.
Technical Support Services
Dedicated technical support personnel are available during the school's working hours to provide technical support services. Timeliness and efficiency of technical support are being continually enhanced.

IT Curriculum and Professional Development
K-12 technology education standards have been developed. Rapid changes in technology are continuously challenging these standards. We've also begun to lay the foundations of a strong and exemplary technology integration program at ASB.

User Policies
Responsible Use and Network Use Policies provide students and staff with the guidelines for the use of technology systems in the school.
